Our Story
From consulting to platform
Secure Enclave was founded in 2019 by David Chen and Sarah Mitchell after they spent years watching enterprises struggle with fragmented security tools. David had led security programs at some of the largest financial institutions in the world, while Sarah had built the cryptographic infrastructure powering billions of daily transactions at Google.
They started as a security consulting firm, helping mid-market companies navigate the increasingly complex landscape of compliance requirements and data protection regulations. But they kept seeing the same pattern: organizations were spending millions on point solutions that didn't talk to each other, creating gaps that attackers could exploit.
In 2020, they began building what would become the Secure Enclave platform — a unified security solution that brings encryption, access control, compliance, and threat detection into a single control plane. Today, Secure Enclave protects sensitive data for over 500 organizations across financial services, healthcare, technology, and government sectors.
Headquartered in San Francisco with engineering teams in Austin and Tel Aviv, we're backed by leading cybersecurity investors and continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in enterprise data protection.
